FLICK

Film Literacy InCubator Klub

FLICK sees itself as a European platform or club of actors active in the field of film education, working together to raise awareness of the central role of film education, explore the potential of digital tools and resources in this field, and increase the scope and relevance of activities that put European film heritage at the heart of the mediation process. To facilitate this exchange, FLICK organises several international workshops and conferences aimed at teachers, trainers, cultural policy, heritage and film industry representatives. In this context, the DFF hosted the international workshop “Digital Film Education? – National and European Education Policy in Practice” on 21 September 2018 in Frankfurt.

FLICK builds on the experiences of renowned European film archives and film mediation organisations, which have already worked together in the abcinemaproject.eu : Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna, Cinémathèque royale de Belgique (Brussels), DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum (Frankfurt), EYE (Amsterdam), Les enfants de cinéma (Paris), Association des Cinémathèque Européennes (Brussels). The overall aim of the activities  is to put film education and film distribution in Europe high on the agenda of cinematheques, cultural policy and schools and to open up new perspectives for the role of film education in schools.
